John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado that specialized in folk music, inspired millions of people. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell new Mexico, but was enthralled by Colorado. He later settled in Aspen. Denver's famous anthems about Colorado are a source of inspiration for many to move to the state. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated it was because John Denver is the only musician to truly embody Colorado. In 2011 Denver was named the Hall of Fame's very first inductee. Today he personifies the state for all people. On my trips, I've met individuals who are from New Zealand or the other side. When you tell people you're from Colorado, the first words they'll say is Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief stint as a folk musician and was his debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff wrote the tune with the inspiration of Johnny Cash, but Denver discovered an early version of the song and realized the song would be a top 10 hit. After performing the song in Washington D.C. to a huge crowd, the singer made a recording a few days from now.
